Donate used motor oil in Brooklyn Park | Environment

Brooklyn Park is the first city in the metro area to set up a 24/7 waste collection site where residents can dump used oil from their vehicles.

The oil is cleaned and then transported to an oil burner at two maintenance facilities to heat up the buildings.  It is likely a third building, the city's activity center will get a burner. 

Each burner cost the city about $20,000, money they hope to re-coup in a year from the savings on heat.
